Michele is a clinical psychologist who has been practicing for 20 years. She received her education in Calgary, Cincinnati, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky. She has worked at the Alberta Children’s Hospital and one of her specialty areas is in assessment and treatment of families and children dealing with externalizing problems such as attention and oppositionality. She occasionally speaks to and consults with pediatricians and family doctors in the area about helping their patients manage oppositional behaviours.
She has been involved in several research projects and has recently received a Clinical Advancement Grant and is currently heading up a research project that is assessing treatment outcomes.
She works successfully with clients to help them overcome depression, anxiety, grief and loss adding a mindful perspective to her client centered care. She also specializes in helping couples resolve conflict and learn how to have healthier and happier connections.

Angela Grier M Ed
Angela/Piiohksoopanskii (Singing Loudly Far Away) is from the Piikani First Nation of the Blackfoot Confederacy and is thrilled to be part of the team. She is a multi-faceted clinician and finds her passion working with youth and adults. She also works with the Siksika First Nation (Blackfoot) as a therapist. She works with depression, anxiety, addiction, grief, loss and trauma. Besides being a clinician, she has spent much of her career devoted to education and advocacy, and Angela has worked to address and respond to the impacts of colonization of First Nation and Indigenous children, families and communities from a culturally competent and appropriate mental health lens.
Some of Angela’s executive highlights with advocacy includes a four-year term as an Elected Official with Piikani Nation Chief and Council; first Indigenous Chair of the Institute of Public Administration Canada (Calgary Chapter); Appointed Council Member of the First Nation Women’s Economic Security Council for the Government of Alberta; and currently as the first Indigenous Board Member for the University of Alberta’s Parkland Institute. Angela’s background in adult education has included University of Lethbridge faculties member in the Native American Studies Department, under Dr. Leroy Little Bear, as well as the School of Health Studies Addiction Counselling Program at the time leading the conversation on harm reduction. Other post-secondary experiences includes Indigenous Lead at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and 15 years as a guest faculty member at The Banff Centre. Heather Johnson
Heather Johnson is a Registered Provisional Psychologist working with children (10+), youth, and adults both in counselling and assessment roles. Heather is interested in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship and takes a person-centered approach to her work. She brings her past experience both in yoga and mindfulness to her work and has experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. Heather uses EMDR as a tool in session as well. She attempts to help clients understand their patterned responses in relation to their family and cultural systems.
Heather provides formal giftedness, ADHD and full psychoeducational assessments for children and adults. Even in assessment Heather takes a relational approach and attempts to create a safe, trusting space with the goal of getting a comprehensive picture of a client’s functioning.

John completed his Masters in Counselling at the City University of Seattle in Canada, and is currently working on his Doctor in Philosophy in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. John has a strong passion for working with children, youth, and families. His work is informed with eclectic approach of family system theories, cognitive-behaviour therapy, cultural humility, brief solution therapy, resiliency model, and strength-based approach. In the disability sector, John provides clinical support using combination of Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), Applied Behaviour Analysis informed practice, Positive Behaviour Support, Social Thinking Model, Circles Curriculum, and Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS). He has worked with families experiencing domestic violence in immigrant sectors, providing anger management and parenting workshops. John is also active in the Filipino community in Calgary, where he advocated for mental health within his community. John has strong experience in facilitating positive parenting support, social skills development, and emotional regulation for children.
John’s future aspiration is to continue his career in developing programs and community initiatives that will empower individuals to express their uniqueness and reach their full potential. He has developed support groups for LGBTQ2+ youths and created a network of support for LGBT refugees.
In his free time, John is an avid hiker and has explored different terrains around the Rocky Mountains. John also enjoys traveling and has been to Europe and Asia.

Angela is a Registered Psychologist who has been practising since 2012. Originally from Nova Scotia, where she received her BSc, Angela relocated to complete her MSc in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of Calgary.
Angela has worked with diverse populations and brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and expertise to her assessment practice.
